Nepal Hypnosis Founder Archana Bibhor Interview

A Norway based channel- DigiBrary took an interview with Archana Bibhor, the founder of Nepal Hypnosis Clinic and Training Center. The interview, which was taken during Archana's Europe visit, concentrated in mental health and well being. Based upon hear decade long experience, the preeminent psychotherapist and trainer Archana talked about various aspects of psychosocial health during the interview.

The essence of psychotherapy is personal change. As a science dedicated to alleviate emotional distress and devoted to personality growth and individual development, modern psychotherapy brings together the findings of many disciplines. To psychoanalysis, which has been the guiding light of this interpersonal process for the first part of the 20th century, several new approaches have been developed in response to society's needs and inspired from contributions from related fields--from sociology to behavioral medicine.

Hypnosis: Key to mindHypnosis... the very word conveys dramatic images. We either imagine a strange character waving a pendulum or a group of silly people on a stage acting like ducks or chickens. Both of these images imply that hypnosis can be used to control your mind. Nothing could be further from the truth. No one can ever use hypnosis to control you. You give your permission when you are being hypnotized. In fact all hypnosis is self - hypnosis and it is an incredible tool for managing your mind.
 
 The human mind and its processes have always seemed as mysterious and fascinating as the universe itself, but the investigation of the nature of the mind has become the province of experimental science only during relatively recent times. The scientific approach has paid rich dividends in knowledge. During the last century, we have discovered that mental processes connect to emotional experiences and affect the patterns of health and disease.

Answer: [by Lucy Beresford] Adolescence is a time of huge experimentation, when teenagers start to forge their own identities and separate healthily from their parents. Some do this by ‘rejecting’ the values their parents represent. No matter what you say or do, your son is on a journey away from you. Trying to rein him in completely will only make him want to cast you off even more.

Adolescence is also about finding peer acceptance. What your son says about sex and to women may be what, deep down, he believes, or it may be what he believes he must say to remain accepted by the latest gang.

The history of psychology in Nepal can be traced from 1947 when it was introduced at Tri-Chandra College, Kathmandu. At that time Tri-Chandra was the only college in Nepal and was affiliated to one of the Indian Universities. Psychology was introduced at the intermediate level as part of philosophy. When Tribhuvan University (TU) was established in 1959, other colleges also came into existence.
